Frequently asked
Does my audio get uploaded to a server? +
No. Conversion runs entirely in your browser with WebCodecs, so your audio never leaves your device.
Which format should I pick? +
MP3 is lossy and almost universally supported. WAV is uncompressed PCM. OGG uses the Opus codec, efficient and lossy. FLAC is lossless compression, smaller than WAV with no quality loss.
Why do MP3 and FLAC take a little longer? +
Browsers can't encode MP3 or FLAC on their own, so those formats use in-browser encoders. They need a moment to spin up and run, especially on longer files. WAV and OGG encode natively and finish faster.
